Curley Culp was a 1967Time Magazine and Sporting News All-American and two-time All-WAC middle guard for Arizona State University. Coming out of Yuma High School as a multiple year All State footballer and a two-time State Wrestling Champion - he went on to win the NCAA Heavyweight Championship for the Sun Devils - also in 1967. Culp was named the #1 "Arizona Athlete of the Century" by USA Today magazine, was named the #3 athlete in Sports Illustrated magazine’s “50 Greatest Sports Figures of Arizona" list, and #6 in The Arizona Republic’s “Athletes of the Century” - all in 1999. In addition, Culp has been welcomed into a number of Halls of Fame, including the National Federation of State High School Associations, Arizona State University Sports Hall of Fame, the Arizona High School Hall of Fame, the 1997 National High School Sports Hall of Fame, the Arizona Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the State of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame… along with the Kansas City Chiefs Ring of Honor-and-Hall of Fame, the 30-Year Anniversary Houston Oilers Dream Team, and the Arizona State Ring of Honor. Curley Culp was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

Our 2015 Curley Culp Top AZ Senior defensive lineman is 6’3” and 275 lbs. , Garret Rand of Chandler Hamilton High School. Rand is a First Team All State D-I and All Arizona player. He was selected CUSD Defensive Player of the Year, and he will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, on January 9, 2016. He has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin.
